Several articles on the subject in newspapers this morning, including this one from La Presse mentioned in our publication on our Facebook account. Vaccinating domestic animals, among other things, has helped prevent cases of rabies for many years. It is important to keep our pets and their families healthy by maintaining their rabies vaccination up to date. As stated in this article, when you are around stray/unknown domestic animals or wildlife, and suffer a bite or scratch: clean the wound with soapy water for 10 to 15 minutes and contact 811.
