Blake's story

Blake's story Thursday December 11, 2025

He was born on August 28, 2024, in Laval, at Sylvie's house, on rue Saint-Elzéar.

His mother, Tché Tché, was a husky dog from an indigenous community in Cabonga.  When Sylvie met her during a fishing trip, Tché Tché was pregnant.  Informed of the brutal reality of the territory – where ownerless dogs are eliminated once a year – Sylvie refused to allow this dog and her unborn puppies to be abandoned to this fate.

So she brought Tché Tché with her, from Cabonga to Laval!

It was there, in the safety and warmth of her home, that Tché Tché gave birth to twelve puppies.

Blake was one of them.

From his first moments of life, Blake knew protection.  He was born safe from danger, surrounded by care, whereas without this gesture, his life would probably have been very different.  The father remained unknown, but Blake already had the essentials: a human ready to put his well-being first.

Sylvie looked after Tché Tché and Blake.

The eleven other puppies were sold, with seriousness and responsibility, adopted by human parents who offered them a safe home too.

Blake grew up with constant attention and top priority.  Sylvie took care of him with rare devotion, devoting more care, more time and more presence to him than even to her own child.  Blake was never secondary in his life – he was always protected, followed, and deeply loved.

When Tché Tché died last year, Blake lost his mother.  But he remained the bearer of her legacy: the strength, the resilience and the indelible trace of the one who gave birth to him, and the one who saved him.

Today, Blake embodies this whole story.

He is the fruit of both Cabonga and Laval, of wild nature and a loving home.  He is proof that a single act of courage can transform a life.

Blake is not just a dog, he is a life saved.  It is the story of Sylvie and Tché Tché that continues.
